Course Description

Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP) is the industry standard qualification and a starting point for Mortgage Advisers. The CeMAP qualification meets the standards required by the Financial Conduct Authority to practice as a ‘Licensed Adviser’ – 80% of the U.K. advisers hold a CeMAP qualification.

The CeMAP qualification consists of three modules which provides extensive knowledge of the U.K. financial regulation mortgages policy and practice and how to apply this as effective mortgage advice to the consumers. The CeMAP qualification is a Level 3 qualification registered with Ofqual in the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).

  • CeMAP Module 1 will grant an overview of what the financial services market looks like in the U.K.
  • CeMAP Module 2 covers the procedures, processes and legislation relating to mortgage applications and purchasing a property, along with the types of products and issues borrowers may face after a mortgage has been completed.
  • CeMAP Module 3 is about consolidation of the knowledge acquired and application to case study scenarios.

The Certificate in Regulated Equity Release (CeRER) is the regulatory qualification which is required by advisers who wishes to advise on different types of equity release products and the risks associated with taking out a scheme. The CeRER is a Level 3 qualification registered with Ofqual in the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).
