Course Description

This Level 2 certificate includes a combination of mandatory and optional units. Everyone must complete the mandatory units as they form the major part of the skills needed to work competently within the sector.

Entry Criteria

  • You need to be working/volunteering in a school for 12 hours a week or more.

All places are subject to satisfactory interview.


The programme will be delivered predominantly in the work place on a 1:1 basis with an appointed assessor who is occupationally competent within the sector.

Knowledge evidence is delivered in group sessions in college.


The units within the Level 2 certificate will be assessed via Direct Observation. However, all units have a requirement to provide knowledge evidence. This requires a written explanation of work practice, and this can be obtained via reflective accounts, assignment and written questioning.
