Course Description

This 17-week course will help you understand the difficulties that could be experienced by an individual who has autism or a different neurodivergent condition.

By the end of the course, you will:

  • Understand the concept of autism and the definitions and terminology associated with neurodivergence.
  • Know the importance of a person centred approach when working with autistic individuals.
  • Understand the importance of effective communication for autistic individuals.
  • Know how neurodivergence can impact individuals and ways in which individuals with neurodiversity could be supported.
  • Understand the difficulties that can be experienced by individuals who have autism or neurodivergence.
  • Understand the importance of the autistic spectrum when supporting individuals who have autism or neurodivergence.

Understand how to support individuals who have autism or neurodivergence.
