Course Description
This work-based learning course prepares experienced hospitality workers for leadership roles, such as team leaders, head waiters, or junior managers. Applicants must be employed for a minimum of 16 hours per week, including weekdays, to allow for practical workplace assessments.
To qualify, you must currently work in a supervisory role or be given full supervisory responsibilities for the duration of the course with employer support to fully develop the skills required for the role. Through this program, you will learn to lead teams, control resources and budgets, maintain health and safety, and train staff in customer service excellence.
Entry Criteria
16 hours a week minimum employment in a course-related role.
Application of Number and Communication Essential skills qualifications or equivalent are desirable but not essential.
Delivery
This diploma is primarily delivered through ‘work-based’ learning, meaning most of your training takes place in your workplace.
You will be expected to complete independent study to complete the knowledge requirement of the qualification.
To help you with this, you will have regular support sessions with your assessor and full access to research and revision materials on Google Classroom.
Assessment
Assessment for this qualification is straightforward and hands-on. The evidence required will be collected through practical observations in the kitchen, written tasks or discussions to show your understanding and exams to confirm your knowledge.
