Course Description
This course is split into two units:
- British Sign Language (BSL) Sign Production for Story Telling
- British Sign Language (Advanced Skills)
This course will enable learners to develop their skills, at Level 3, when producing or receiving BSL.
Communicate, using BSL, with a range of individuals in a range of both formal and information settings to demonstrate correct:
- Handshapes
- Facial Expression and eye gaze
- Non Manual Features
- Movement
- Fingerspelling
- Time-lines
- Role Shift
- Modification
- Multi-channel Signs
- Directional Verbs
- Negation/Affirmation
- Placement
As well as developing signing skills, learners will expand their knowledge about Deaf issues (BSL Act), Deaf Identity, and significant events in Deaf history.
Entry Criteria
Successful completion of British Sign Language Level 2

Portfolios of work (no external examinations)
