Are you unsure of what step to take next? Did you not get the grades you were hoping for at school?

Don’t worry as our ‘Preparing to work in Hairdressing Level 1’ programme might be the right choice for you.  

This programme gives you an introduction into the knowledge and skills needed for a traditional Junior role, enabling you to assist a stylist in the daily running of a salon. You will learn skills such as shampooing, blow drying, reception work, assisting with colour and lightening, plaiting and twisting.

The main qualifications are City and Guilds in Employability and Personal and Social Development Skills, along with a City and Guilds Certificate in Hairdressing. We also include Maths and English qualifications, which may be at GCSE level if required.

Entry requirements:

  • A real interest and commitment to the subject and attendance at an interview

After successfully completing this programme, there are various employment opportunities across North Wales available. Alternatively, you could progress directly into Hairdressing Level 2 programmes in Rhyl or Rhos campuses.
