Is this course right for me?

This course is offered at community locations in Rhos-on-Sea and Prestatyn.

This course is aimed at those who are working within a school setting in a supervised capacity, or for those who want to work in schools.

Entry requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Introduction to being a Classroom Assistant course and/or recent long term experience of working in a school.
  • Strong Level 1/equivalent literacy skills.

You will also need to be working within a school or volunteering within a school setting.


This level 2 qualification is delivered predominantly in college via taught sessions, practical activities and tutorials, whilst also undertaking a 2-day work placement in a school.


The units within this qualification require both written knowledge in the form of a portfolio of work and the assessment of skills via direct observation whilst on work placement in a school.


You could proceed onto a number of programmes within Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, including:

  • NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning QCF
  • NCFE CACHE Level 2 Award in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities
