Is this course right for me?

This Introductory Course in Mindfulness offers an opportunity to explore a different technique to the challenges in a modern busy life. A way that is clear and focussed, you will explore how to deal with elements of stress and difficult challenges you may face in both your work and personal life by using mindfulness techniques.

This course will help you to develop the awareness and skills which will allow you to move away from the mindless state of autopilot and to connect with a more mindful way, by learning to pay moment-to-moment attention to the breath, the body, the mind and the world around you in a way that is more compassionate, less reactive and non-judgmental.

Entry requirements:

  • There are no entry requirements for this course. 

Delivery:

The course is delivered through a blend of the following:

  • Classroom-based
  • Group discussions
  • Practising Mindfulness methods.

Assessment:

  • The course is assessed through discussion, completion of a short workbook and the use of case studies.
  • Upon successful completion, you will receive a college certificate. 

Progression:

Any other Health and Social Care related courses, or possibly Stress Awareness.
