Awarded by Highfield Qualifications, the Level 3 course in First Aid at Work runs over 3 days and provides a comprehensive set of practical skills needed by individuals in most workplaces to become a confident First Aider at work.

Giving both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies, it meets the standards required to help comply with Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations.

Entry requirements:

  • Learners must be at least 14 years old
  • First Aiders in the workplace should be able to cope with physically and emotionally demanding situations

 

Delivery:

The course consists of:

  • practical activities
  • role play
  • scenarios
  • wound make up 
  • formal teaching 

There is a lot of hands-on practice, and students must be able to kneel and lie on the floor. We recommend loose clothing is worn for this course.

Assessment:

  • Continual practical examination throughout the course and multi-choice examinations.

This course has been accredited by the regulators of England and Wales (Ofqual and the Welsh Government) and is part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). It is supported by Skills for Health, the Sector Skills Council for health.
