College is still accepting online applications for courses starting in September 2020.

Interviews

Interviews are cancelled to help to limit social contact during this time.

Instead, you will be invited to a college welcome event to meet the tutors before the start of the course. If you do not meet the entry criteria you will have the opportunity to discuss an alternative programme during this event.

Is this course right for me?

Would you like a career in plastering?

This programme covers a range of plastering techniques at an advanced level, adding to your knowledge of the trade. You will gain the expertise to work independently, as well as a recognised Level 3 qualification.

The programme is suitable for students progressing from Plastering Level 2, and will build on the knowledge gained at that level. It is also suitable for people with practical experience at a suitable level.

Entry requirements:

In order to qualify for this course, you will need at least one of the following:

  • A relevant Level 2 qualification at Pass
  • Relevant industry experience

As part of the application process, you will be asked to attend an interview to give you the opportunity to discuss the course.

Delivery:

You will study a variety of subject-specific modules, in addition to Literacy and Numeracy skills.

The programme will be delivered through a blend of the following:

  • Group work
  • Classroom based learning
  • Tutorial support
  • Educational visits
  • MOODLE (virtual learning environment)
  • Practical sessions in a realistic working environment (RWE)

Assessment:

  • Practical and written assessments/assignments
  • Presentations and demonstrations
  • Portfolios of work
  • Performance and observation
  • Demonstration of practical skills
  • Online examination

Progression:

The programme gives you a qualification and a valuable set of skills, helping you to progress into employment and higher education.

In the industry, the programme will give you the skills and qualification to progress into self-employment or employment with a firm or contractor.
