We understand how unsettling the past weeks have been for you, since the announcement that exams have been
cancelled this summer, and that you are urgently waiting for news.
Grŵp Llandrillo Menai has been constantly communicating with the awarding organisations to get an
understanding of how they will be approaching the allocation of grades for all learners.
Wales has released this statement today which is relevant to A levels, GCSE and the Skills
Challenge of the Welsh Baccalaureate.
QAA have also provided further information relevant to Access to HE.
For the above programmes of study, learners will therefore not be required to submit any assessment which
contribute to your final grade after the 24th April 2020.
Our approach to teaching and learning after Easter will be as follows:
- Learners progressing to HE will benefit from delivery which supports their next stage of learning.
- AS learners should continue to cover the specification required to support their progression to A2.
- GCSE learners can continue to develop appropriate skills.
We are awaiting further information on other vocational qualifications, and will share this information as
when the awarding bodies and Qualifications Wales approve these arrangements via email.
In the meantime, we would encourage you to continue monitoring the FAQs on our website for up-to-date
information and any further information we receive which relate to other Awarding Organisations.
