Course Description
The Foundation Certificate in Sustainability and Environmental Management is aimed at individuals new to the environment or sustainability fields, or those considering a career change into sustainability. It provides a foundational level of knowledge across environmental, sustainability and governance principles, giving learners the tools and understanding needed to begin their professional journey in these areas. Completion of the course enables learners to apply for ISEP Associate Membership and use the AISEP professional suffix.
Learners will gain core skills including understanding global environmental/sustainability trends; governance and business principles; relevant legislation; tools and techniques for sustainability; stakeholder engagement; communication; innovation; risk and opportunity identification; data collection and analysis; planning sustainable solutions; and supporting change/transformation.
Entry Criteria
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
Delivery
5 days (40 hours) of learning.
Remote on-line (Tutor Led) or Classroom-based
Assessment
At the end of the 5-day course, learners will take a one-hour, open-book, online multiple-choice exam.
On passing the exam, learners receive a certificate recognising their achievement.
Progression
After successfully completing the course, learners are eligible to apply for ISEP Associate Membership, gaining that membership grade and the AISEP professional suffix.
For those with an academic background (e.g. a degree in environment/sustainability), there is also Graduate Membership which is considered equivalent to Associate Membership in this context.
On passing, learners will be sent details of how to join ISEP as an Associate Member.
