Traineeship
If you are unemployed and under 19 the traineeship programme is designed to develop skills which will lead to a job, an apprenticeships or onto further education.
Traineeship programmes are designed to develop your skills and help you get qualifications which will lead to a job, an apprenticeships or onto further training.
There are no entry requirement but you do need to attend our centre for a minimum of 21 hours per week.
If you are aged 16-18 and would like to follow a programme at level 1 or equivalent, or if you are unsure what your next move should be and need support to get you started on your learning journey, please contact us for further information or contact Careers Wales and ask to be referred to one of our Traineeship programmes.
A traineeship programme will give you the opportunity to trial a range of skills and decide what you're good at.
Traineeship Engagement
This programme lasts between 4 – 26 weeks and takes place over a maximum of 21 hours a week. You will get an allowance of £30 per week and you will also get help with the cost of travelling. The Traineeship Engagement programme offers a great opportunity to develop and prepare you for further learning or employment. It can help you build up your confidence and you can try your hand at a range of skills, see what a realistic working environment is like and take part in community projects.
Traineeship Level 1
The course lasts between 6 to 9 months and is usually delivered over 5 days, 30 hours a week. There is a training allowance of £50 a week and you will also get help with the cost of travelling
You will either be based at the college or you will be sent directly to a work placement with a company. Currently, we offer Traineeship programmes in the following occupations:
- Hairdressing
- Hospitality
